Hello Readers,

The Newark election is key to the lives of Newark residents as well as those in surrounding cities. Newark is the main hub for New Jerseyans. Even though the capital city is Trenton, which is at the west and south end of the state, most of the state’s and federal offices are in Newark.

Newark is not the largest city area wise, but is the most populated city in New Jersey. Newark’s growth lately is due to the city of New York. Many residents moved to Newark due to high rents and costs in New York City, and travel to the city is easy via PATH Train and New Jersey Transit.

Newark’s residents who have lived there for decades are suffering due to high prices on daily needs, including groceries and rents. In 2015, the average rent was $1,085 and in 2026 the average rent was $1,604. However, it is based on the area one wants to rent. If it is Broadway, the rent is lower and if it is in midtown, the rent is higher for one bedroom at about $2250. Anyone working in New York can afford it easily. But if someone is working in Newark or in Essex County, it is harder. Also, the rent goes up every year by 5% – which can be 27.62% higher in 5 years. So, if rent is an average of $1,604 per month, in five years it will be about $2,047.

When I vote, I think about the community. If you think that the growth of Newark is going in the right direction, please vote accordingly, and if you think that it is going in the wrong direction, please vote accordingly. It is up to you to make the judgement. Every 4 years, you get a chance to use your power to elect the right people in your opinion. Elect the right person – that is my humble request.

Former FBI Director James Comey was previously indicted by Trump’s justice department. The case was dismissed by a federal judge Lindsey Halligan that the charges were unlawful because the appointment of the prosecutor was done by an attorney general, not the court. Now, the justice department has indicted Comey again.

According to The Guardian: “Comey was charged over a picture he posted on Instagram last year in which sea shells were arranged to say ‘86 47’, CNN and the Associated Press reported. The post was taken as a threat to Donald Trump. The number 86 can be used as shorthand for getting rid of something, and Trump is the 47th president. Comey subsequently deleted the post and apologized, saying he didn’t realize the numbers were associated with violence. ‘It never occurred to me, but I oppose violence of any kind so I took the post down,’ he wrote on Instagram.”

This comes a few days after a suspect ran into the White House Correspondents’ Dinner and attempted to kill President Trump and other officials. He has been charged with an assassination attempt. This is the third time in two years that someone has attempted to get Trump. It is one thing to not like Trump, but it is unacceptable to make any attempt on someone’s life.

A settlement between the US and Iran looks very slim. Both sides have been fighting for close to two months, but have still not found a middle ground yet. Gas prices have risen about 30% since the start of the war. Every week, it is going up, and will only end when the Strait of Hormuz opens up.

Have a wonderful week. I’ll talk to you next week
