About Us

A HOUSEHOLD NAME FOR OVER 18 YEARS

Dhiren Shah, the principal owner of Local Talk Printing started the business in 1985, under the name Business Card Factory. A few years later, the business moved from Maplewood to Orange, NJ.

After seeing how local residents were lacking community-oriented positive news, Shah started Local Talk Newspaper in November 2000 as a monthly publication with a circulation of 5,000 newspapers a month. On February 22, 2002, Local Talk began publishing on a weekly basis.

Due to the popularity of Local Talk Weekly Newspaper, the printing business name was eventually changed to Local Talk Printing to coincide with that success.

In 2010, Local Talk Community Foundation launched the High School Public Speaking Competition. In its history, the competition has produced over $22,000 in scholarships for Essex County high school students.

In July 2015, Local Talk moved to Newark, NJ. Four months later, the publication was upgraded to a new format, with new content, lower advertising rates, and all-color pages. This was done in an effort to make our publication more hyperlocal and innovative.  Local Talk Newspaper’s current readership is 36,000 - 40,000 per week.

Meanwhile, Local Talk Printing has served tens of thousands of customers for well over 30 years. Our business features powerful technology, from on demand printing to clear color production.
