Hello Readers,
Hello Newarkers, how are you? Are you doing better economically than five years ago? Newark is your home. For many decades, you might be living in Newark and are proud to be a Newarker. Every 4 years, you have the right to select the best possible representative to represent you at city hall. This year, the election will be on May 12, 2026. Your judgement will make your life easier or tougher. You must select the candidate of your choice who can do better for the life of all Newarkers.
In the election, if you select one party, than from only one group they will make decisions from their leader. It is always better when there are split groups that can be elected. That way, there are some on the opposite side who will ask many questions to the administration and the mayor. There will be less chance of corruption. The administration will be responsible to answer questions of the people in general.
Gayle Chaneyfield-Jenkins, a former councilwoman, lost in the mayoral election a while back. However, she decided to run again for the Central Ward council spot. In my opinion, she is a good candidate for the Central Ward. That way, there is some opposition to check and balance the administration if Mayor Baraka gets elected again.
Donna Jackson is a community activist. She has a heart for the people. She is a good candidate to represent the whole of Newark as a councilperson at large. She has requested that the federal government monitor Newark’s May 12, 2026 election.
Are illegal immigrants a problem for our economy? The state spent about $1,600 per worker on illegal immigrants in 2024, in which the total number came out to over $7 billion. In 2025 there is unofficial report that states it was over $8 billion. All that money comes from legal residents of New Jersey and United States of America. There are about 894,000 illegal immigrants in New Jersey.
As usual, the central government is not watching closely for the money spent on illegal immigrants. However, we the citizens of the United States of America are not watching illegal immigrants closely and the expenditures spent by our local cities and communities. Only a few are getting true benefits, and it is mostly those who are connected – family and friends – get the spoils.
So, this is the best time to watch and make sure you elect the right person to send to city hall. Also, one group is always disadvantageous to elect. So, it is better to vote for different groups, so one group can watch the other group, and that way, you the citizens are more protected.
The Supreme Court made a big ruling on the Voting Rights Act. Now, Republicans have the ability to redraw maps regardless of race considerations. Democrats feel that this is unfair, but is the constant overflow of illegal immigrants fair? The big concern is that Democrats want to gain power so that they can give the illegals amnesty and have them vote so that they never lose another election due to the massive flow of more voters. How come no one calls that a threat to democracy?
Have a wonderful week. I’ll talk to you next week.
