Hello Readers,

A federal judge in California ruled against the Trump administration’s enforcement of sending about 4000 National Guard troops and 700 Marines to Los Angeles in June. California Governor Gavin Newsom opposed it from the beginning. He claimed that the President has no authority to override his authority. However, the Trump administration did override his opposition and sent troops. White House spokesperson Anna Kelly said, “Once again, a rogue judge is trying to usurp the authority of the Commander-in-Chief to protect American cities from violence and destruction.”

Trump has done it in Washington DC and now he is trying to repeat it in many cities including Chicago, Baltimore and more. Yes, he has reduced crime during the time the National Guard has been in Washington DC. But is it legal? Is it the right way of tackling crime? Because temporarily, the crime may go down, but it may not be a permanent solution. Trump should work with the local authorities, like mayors elected by the people of those constituents.

Maybe Trump wants to get his name in the history books. But at the same time, he should not ignore people. He should work with people and elected officials, whether they are from any party or an independent. Yes, he can give a timeline for those elected officials, mainly mayors of all cities, and within that timeline, if they do not cooperate, then he has the right to move forward. He has a good idea, but implementation of ideas is the key to success, along with working with others as well.

An earthquake might not have been that high on the Richter scale, but it already took the lives of over 1,400 people in Eastern Afghanistan. Another earthquake of 6.0 struck in Afghanistan also. That caused over 3,400 people to be injured. They do not have an estimate of deaths yet.

Last week, three boys were doing the ‘Ding-dong ditch’ prank. Within a span of 15 minutes, they rang the bell three times. Two times, they ran away. But the third time when they rang the bell, the owner of the house was waiting in his yard hiding behind the bushes and shot a gun when the three boys were running away. One of them was shot in the back and alive when police arrived at the scene. Police took him to a local hospital, but he succumbed to the injury and was pronounced dead. Usually, the majority of the children do some kind of pranks for fun. But some pranks are not good, for you do not know who you are playing pranks against. So, please be careful.

Congratulations are in order for former Newark mayor and current U.S. Senator Cory Booker, who announced he is engaged. Hopefully, he and his wife-to-be will have a happy life together.

The crime is not going down. The lives of longstanding residents of Newark and the surrounding areas are not improving. The cost of goods and services are increasing, and more undocumented people are moving into the community. The elected officials are in their position due to the residents of the community. However, once they get elected, the majority of them do not work for people any longer in my opinion.

So, elect the right person, and if they don’t work for the people, you have the right to make sure they are defeated in the next election, even though they might have a strong and powerful political power’s support. You only have your vote to work with, so use it wisely.

Have a wonderful week. I’ll talk to you next week.
