Hello Readers,

This week’s biggest news is the war between Iran and Israel. The US was indirectly involved, as the conflict weighed on the mind of President Trump. Initially, he said that he would make a decision within fourteen days on whether or not the US would help Israel. Within twenty-four hours, three stealth bombers dropped massive bunker-buster bombs at Iran’s three nuclear facilities and returned to the US.

From the US to Iran, the distance is about 7,200 miles each way. In total, the big planes flew 14,400 miles. The stealth bombers required fuel for this long journey, and were actually refueled in the air on the way to do their job.

On June 23rd, Trump wrote on his social media that both countries agreed to a truce, with it taking place at 12 a.m. on Tuesday. However, Israel claims that Iran fired on them after the deadline and killed four people. A spokesperson said that Israel retaliated and fired at a radar facility. Right now, there was no proof that Iran fired after the ceasefire, but Israel fired and broke the ceasefire announcement by President Trump.

Hopefully, after 12 days of war, the killing of people and damaging properties will end after the three uranium enrichment sites to make nuclear bombs were destroyed. So, now it is easier to negotiate. However, Trump’s election promises of no war in the world and ending the Russia and Ukraine war withing 24 hours have not been kept. A ceasefire settlement is not easy, but should not be promised to people just to win an election. Trump is trying, but did not get the result he wanted.

Tesla got a big hit when CEO Elon Musk talked negatively about the spending budget and stepped away from DOGE. Immediately, Tesla demand went down, and shares plummeted. Musk started talking about diverting Tesla’s car production to many different services. Tesla launched a robotaxi service in Austin, Texas and immediately the demand for Tesla went up.

Extreme heat at the time of Paterson High School’s graduation ceremony caused dozens of people to faint, with many of them treated at the hospital. When the government gives notification for taking shelter from the heat, we all should be very careful, and staying at home is advisable. The government announces it for the benefit of the people, and they have data and expertise, so we should listen to them and make the best decision for ourselves.

New York City’s mayoral race has heated up. Andrew Cuomo, the leading candidate for the Democratic Primary who was forced to resign as Governor of New York State, was leading in the mayoral race a few weeks ago. Lately. the wave is going against him. Some groups were trying to block him and encourage people to vote against him.

Since last week, the wave has changed, and the polls show Zohran Mamdani leading in the ranked choice voting against Andrew Cuomo. Mamdani is supporting free city buses, public childcare and a rent-freeze. Due to the ranked choice system, it will take some time for the results to be known.

Have a wonderful week. I’ll talk to you next week.
