Hello Readers,
Who will be the presidential candidates for both parties in 2028? There is a long list of possible candidates who wish to run for the Democratic Party. The Republican Party does not have a full list of possible candidates. However, the major candidates have the backing of CPAC (Conservative Political Action Committee). These are big donors for the CPAC who will decide the Republican Party candidate.
There were about 1,600 attendees. Vice President J.D. Vance received 53% of the vote and Marco Rubio received 34% of the vote. All other candidates received less than 2% of the vote. So, there is a chance that J.D. Vance will be the candidate for the Republican Party, with Rubio as a possible running mate.
CPAC is controlled by the major donors for the politicians. The politicians usually pass resolutions for the benefit of the donors. As I mentioned last week, individual, companies and PAC should be allowed $3,300 only for the deduction. We talked about politicians being controlled by lobbyists. When they donate millions of dollars, they get the tax benefits of the top rate of 37% of the US Income Tax plus state and local taxes.
They raise money for the politicians and control the legislation through lobbying. Democrats talk about taxing more money to the billionaires, but many times they had control of congress, as well as the presidency, but they did not do it. Why? Because they are the same. They want to get elected and do favors for the same billionaires and rich people. After the election, they forget about the people. They have a good vocabulary, so they gave speeches about helping people, but in the real sense, they work for the lobbyists and support legislation that favors them.
President Trump wants to build an unusual ballroom at the White House, which he says is not at the expense of the taxpayers but wealthy donors. The cost was about $400 million. However, a Federal Judge ruled against Trump and ordered a halt to the construction of the ballroom. The project was for 90,000 square feet, which would stand on the site of the demolished East Wing.
Newark Mayor Ras Baraka said in his first election campaign slogan: “When I become Mayor, We become Mayor.” After about 12 years, how many citizens became mayor? The Mayoral authority went to his brother and some of his closest people. The upcoming municipal election may change the outcome. Many people are complaining about the way he is handling the citizens who want to express their opinion at the council meeting. However, the council and the city clerk are always working for the benefit of the mayor and his team. Many candidates came out to challenge the mayor and his team. This is especially true in the Central Ward, as it will be a real contest to see who has control of the main corridor of the city.
Local Talk is opening up interviews to official Newark mayoral candidates. Give us a call at 973-280-7547 for more information.
Have a wonderful week. I’ll talk to you next week.
