Hello Readers,

In Central Texas, the Guadalupe River flooded over 20 feet in an hour and about 35 feet high within a few hours. Children and counselors at Camp Mystic sadly lost their lives. So far, about 127 lives have been lost due to the severe weather. Eleven children have still not been found. A counselor wrote names of the children on their body, so that in the worst scenario they could be identified. It is really a sad incident. Local Talk and I will pray for them and give our condolences to their family and friends.

Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” passed in the House and Senate, and President Trump signed it on July 4. The $5 trillion increase in our debt is the worst. Maybe it will stimulate the economy and benefit the working class, especially those with children. Maybe it will boost the real estate economy as the deduction limit has been raised from $10,000 to $40,000 which will benefit the higher middle class. Increased spending on Border Security and a bigger border wall can protect our borders. The money in the bill will boost powerful missile defense and offensive military innovation.

The Congressional Budget Committee predicts a $2.8 trillion national debt increase over the next 10 years. Our debt is connected to our GDP. Our Debt ratio will increase the GDP to Debt ratio. This might increase interest rates in the coming year. Even after the Fed held interest rates mostly steady since Trump was inaugurated, the rates may remain about 6% for 2025 and 2026. This will make it harder for middle income Americans to own a house.

I think in Northeast American states, like New York and New Jersey, the government and the lawmakers first think of how to increase their income or make more money for the government. They do not think about the people first. In other states, especially Republican states, they think about the general people first. The only time Democratic lawmakers help smaller organizations is so that they do not lose their voting blocs. In our area, nepotism is a disease. Any newly elected officials hire their family and friends and make their voting blocs solid. The merit based employee hiring is a myth, except when there is a need for the particular position.

The majority of the building maintenance and improvement cost increases 1 to 4 percent every year. However, I think that a is between 1.5 to 2.5% cost increase is reasonable. In Newark and the immediate vicinity, cities increase by 5% every year. This is too much. It should be about 2 to 2.5% per year.

JNQ Logistics LLC principal owner Quantavia Hilbert and Michael Jean Baptiste sold their company for $1 million and a balance of $700,000 had to be paid. JNQ sued PTP Logistics for the balance of $700,000. Superior Court Judge Hon. Thomas R. Vena gave a judgement in favor of JNQ Logistics for $700,000 against PTP Logistics. PTP Logistics has to pay within 45 days from the Judgment Date of June 6, 2025 to JNQ Logistics (Quantavia and Micheal Jean Baptiste.)

Have a wonderful week. I’ll talk to you next week.
