The National Football League held its annual draft in Green Bay. With the 1st Pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans selected Miami (Fl.) star Cam Ward as their franchise quarterback. Then, the Jacksonville Jaguars traded up three spots to select Colorado two-way Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter with the next pick.

Next, the New York Giants took defensive end Abdul Carter from Penn State University. As for the other local team, the New York Jets took Missouri offensive tackle Armand Membou at #7. Later in the 1st Round, the Giants traded up to select Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart at #25 overall.

As for the rest of the draft, here are the other Giants picks: 3rd round: Darius Alexander, DT, Toledo (#65); 4th round: Cam Skattebo, RB, Arizona State (#105); 5th round: Marcus Mbow, OG, Purdue (#154); 7th round: Thomas Fidone, TE, Nebraska (#219), 7th round: Korie Black, CB, Oklahoma State (#246).

Meanwhile, here are the other Jets picks: 2nd round: Mason Taylor, TE, LSU (#42); 3rd round: Azareye’h Thomas, CB, Florida State (#73); 4th round: Arian Smith, WR, Georgia (#110); 4th round: Malachi Moore, S, Alabama (#130), 5th round: Francisco Mauigoa, LB, Miami (Fl.) (#162); 5th round: Tyler Baron, DE, Miami (Fl.) (#176).

Of course, the biggest story of the draft was the Shedeur Sanders saga. This continued until Saturday, when Sanders was finally selected by the Cleveland Browns with the 144th pick despite them already drafting a quarterback in the third round. Most of the picks in the 4th thru 7th rounds were on the defensive side of the ball. Memphis CB Kobee Minor was the 257th and final pick of the draft.

In other sports, The New York Red Bulls were in action at home against CF Montreal, taking the match 1-0 at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison. Noah Eile scored the only goal off a corner kick far post from defender Omar Valencia.

Finally, the Philadelphia Eagles continued their Super Bowl celebration tour with a visit to the White House, where they were honored by President Donald Trump at the White House on Monday afternoon. Former Giants running back Saquon Barkley visited Trump’s golf course at Bedminster, New Jersey on Sunday and took a free ride on Marine One. Meanwhile, Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts did not attend the White House celebration.
