Hello Readers,
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you. Due to the holiday, as usual we distribute the newspaper on Wednesday, a day earlier. Thanksgiving Day is very precious for families, as they get together and give thanks, some to God, for food and everything, including a good life. This is an act of gratitude.
After Monday’s airstrike by the Israelis, Israel Prime Minister Netanyahu agreed to have a ceasefire deal. Now the deal will be voted on by Israel’s cabinet. Most of the world is against Israel’s attacks on Palestine. The world leaders also get annoyed by Israel’s attack on Lebanon as well. I don’t think Israel will continue depending on the US and its allies to support their war efforts. President-elect Donald Trump is a strong supporter of Israel. But he is unpredictable, so Israel has to take its own decision for a truce, at least with Lebanon. Hamas is a danger, so their movement must be curtailed, but the Palestinians are innocent people, so they should not be punished.
A mass deportation of illegal immigrants by the Trump administration will raise many questions. California and many other states have farms that need workers who can maintain them and produce. The majority of farms have workers from Mexico and other countries. Without illegal workers, the production will be impacted. Most of the construction workers also tend to be illegals. Now, it is very important that the Trump administration bring a solution. It will not be easy, but it is necessary for the US economy.
The Russia and Ukraine war is not slowing down. President Biden gave Ukraine permission to use US-supplied long range missiles to attack inside Russia, which gives an indication that the US is involved in the war. Immediately, Russia started attacking Ukraine with missile attacks. This all started upon the movement to making Ukraine a part of NATO.
Per Google, “At the June 2021 Brussels summit, NATO leaders reiterated the decision taken at the 2008 Bucharest Summit that Ukraine would become a member of the Alliance with the NATO MAP as an integral part of the process and Ukraine’s right to determine its own future and foreign policy course without outside interference.”
The purpose of inviting Ukraine into NATO was so that the US and its allies could have a country (originally part of USSR) next to Russia. However, the US does not want Russia to have a base in Cuba. It is a very lopsided decision by the US. America should start thinking about having peace in the world, as the world is becoming more and more globalized.
A judge has agreed to the request of Special Counsel Jack Smith to dismiss the Jan. 6 case against President-elect Donald Trump, on the grounds that the Justice Department has a long standing policy of not engaging in cases against a sitting President, which Trump will be on Jan. 20, 2025. Another reason is that Trump said he would fire Smith as soon as he got into office, along with the fact that he could pardon himself, as the case was in Federal court. Trump’s impending return to the Oval Office also shut down any attempt to retry the Documents case that got thrown out in Florida back in July.
A few years ago, the New York Giants had a chance to re-sign star running back Saquon Barkley to a new contract. However, they chose to give the big money contract to quarterback Daniel Jones, making Barkley unhappy with the team. Eventually, Barkley left and signed with the Philadelphia Eagles. Now, in the Thanksgiving Day game against the Dallas Cowboys, the Giants will be without Jones, who they released on Monday, while Barkley just came off his best career game in another uniform. What a turn of fate!
Have a wonderful week. I’ll talk to you next week.
