Hello Readers,

The assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump is a black day in the history of the United States of America. The Secret Service forgot the protocol to check the roofs and terraces of nearby homes via drone or other advanced equipment. Also, after finding out the shooter was on the roof for 1 minute and 55 seconds before he shot at Trump, some of the people on the crowd were screaming that they saw him, but nothing was done. Even a Secret Service lady officer was laughing or smiling and ducked so low that everyone can see Trump clearly, which is dangerous, as he was wide open to be shot.

The investigation will go on for some time for the mismanagement of the Secret Service. The Secret Service agents on the ground acted very good to surround Trump in a fraction of a second. After getting shot at, Trump was exciting the crowd with his fist pump, but it was risky considering the seriousness of the situation.

President Biden took a long time to respond, and it was a good message but not strong enough to unite the country. Trump invited Biden to debate at any time, any place, one on one without any moderator. Biden denied that he will have any debate before September. I agree with Biden. He should not waste his time on a debate, but rather show the American people that he is capable of managing this country better than Trump.

CNN brought on two Caucasian ladies who said that the Donald Trump assassination attempt was planted and fake. Still, CNN is biased and working for one side trying to change the minds of the people. We are journalists, we should report what is right, rather than taking sides all the time. We should not brainwash people’s minds through our reporting, in my opinion. We are the mirror, whatever comes should go out the same way with the best of our ability.

On Tuesday July 16, 2024, a jury convicted NJ Senator Robert Menendez on all counts. His fellow U.S. Senator Cory Booker from NJ, along with NJ Governor Phil Murphy, Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, U.S. Senator from Michigan Gary Peters, and many other democrats have called for Menendez to resign immediately. Menendez has already announced earlier that he would not resign, and he is seeking election for another six-year term as an independent. However, after the verdict Menendez has not said anything about that yet. If Menendez chooses to resign, NJ Governor Murphy has the right to choose a replacement until Menendez’s term ends on January 3, 2025. The election will be on November 5, 2024 for the six-year term from 2025 to 2030.

That same day, there was a special primary election to fill the seat of late Congressman Donald M. Payne, Jr.  Several candidates competed for the honor, but in the end, Newark Council President LaMonica McIver won the Democratic nod, while Carmen Bucco won the Republican bid. They will advance to another Special Election on Sept. 18, and then the regular one in November. Why Gov. Murphy did it that way is anyone’s guess.

Have a wonderful week. I’ll talk to you next week.
