Hello Readers,
The election in Orange, NJ was the talk of the town, and incumbent Mayor Dwayne Warren won a fourth term as Mayor. Congratulations to Mayor Dwayne Warren on his victory. He won by a comfortable lead of 19 percent. The voter turnout was still dismal in Orange though.
The number of municipalities that restrict mayors to 2 terms are 45%, 3 terms are 30%, and four terms are 9%, where term limits are imposed. The rest do not impose a term limit. However, for an incumbent, it is hard to win four terms, In the 2022 election, the total registered voter list in Orange was 18,462 and 4,320 residents cast their ballots. In 2020’s Orange Mayoral election, 3,226 residents cast their ballots. This election, more people were talking about an election since Local Talk began in 2000. However, only 2,676 residents cast their ballots.
Congratulations to all the uncontested councilpersons on their election. Hopefully, all who won election will work in the best interest of the people.

Donald Trump has accepted President Biden’s offer to have two presidential debates. The first one will be on June 27, 2024 and the second one will be in September 2024. It will be an interesting debate between Biden, who has age-related troubles, and Trump, who has legal troubles.
According to Fox News: “When asked for comment, Trump told Fox News Digital that he will accept and ‘will be there.’ The Republican added that he is “looking forward to being in beautiful Atlanta. The proposal was initially outlined by the Biden-Harris campaign in a letter to the bipartisan Commission on Presidential Debates on Wednesday morning. It abandoned the decades-old tradition of three fall meetings organized by the debate commission. Trump afterward told Fox News Digital that he’d accept the timeline proposed by the incumbent Democrat.”
Have a wonderful week. I’ll talk to you next week.
