STORY & PHOTOS BY THOMAS ELLIS II

This past Saturday, October 28, was a beautiful day. The weather was in the high 70s, the sun shining bright, and no rain in sight. It was a great fall day to play softball, and give back to the community.

The Enough of the Violence Project, Ivy Hill Little League, the NPD 6th Precinct and IHNA held its annual Stop the Violence Game & Community Cookout. At this game, the 6th Precinct donated school supplies that was given away to the children in the community.

The annual Softball game is a great way to bring the Police and the Ivy Hill Community together for a great cause with a positive message. It is just one tool in the community toolbox that we use to make a difference.

NPD 6th Precinct Community Affairs, NPD officers, IHLL players, coaches, parents, and the EOTVP look forward to the game every year, because it brings unity and put smiles on so many faces.
