Hello Readers,

A group of Orange residents got together and made a movement to collect signatures for placing much needed term limits on elected officials. The group wants to have a two-term limit like the Governor of New Jersey to be placed as a referendum on the upcoming November 7 election ballot.

You might ask why is it necessary? In my opinion, it is necessary for a couple of reasons. 1. It makes sure no single person has too much power. They are elected for the benefit of the residents. But we all know, that does not happen all the time in the majority of cities. Once they get elected, they make some decisions in favor of their name recognition, but the major decisions are made favoring their family and friends. The residents cannot do anything. They have the power of your money, and can hire many attorneys to protect themselves for the law and take advantage of loopholes. The committee must collect about 730 signatures from about 18,000 voters in Orange. It is not easy, because the August 18th deadline is right around the corner (81 days prior to the November 7, 2023 election, per what I was told).

A major ruling was made against the Biden Administration having migrants enter the U.S. The ruling has leaned toward taking measures to stop the migrants. What is Biden’s plan? 1. Give money to Ukraine for Ukraine’s war against Russia. 2. Let illegal immigrants (migrants) come to the United States and spend money on them like $4 billion in New York. 3. NATO members must pay at least 2% of their GDP. Poland, a small country, spends the highest percentile, about 3.9% (about 26.49 billion dollars) of their GDP and the U.S. spends the second most, paying 3.49% of their GDP (about 813.69 billion dollars). All other rich countries have not spent close to their promises.

Shaka Hislop, a former Premier League star and a broadcaster currently at ESPN, collapsed while live on television before a match between AC Milan and Real Madrid at the Rose Bowl on July 23, 2023. It’s good news that he is talking and okay now. He will go through medical testing to find out why it happened. Meanwhile, Bronny James, son of star LeBron James, suffered a cardiac arrest while preparing for the upcoming season at USC. He is said to be out of the ICU, which is good.

Lionel Messi scored a game winning goal in his MLS debut to give Inter Miami a 2-1 victory over Cruz Azul in the League’s Cup. People are crazy about him, and one ticket went up to $110,000. As per the news, he is signed to about $50 to 60 million a year and some of the shares from his social media income with Miami. Cristiano Ronaldo has been paid about $136 million in the past 12 months. He switched to the Saudi Arabian soccer league from England’s famed Premier League.

The weather has become unpredictable lately. Does this have something to do with global warming? I think it does. When it comes to the North and South poles and global warming, according to experts, 10% of the sea ice melts every 10 years. The reason why they have given 10 years is because some years it is not warm or maybe cold. The world temperature has risen about 1 degree Celsius or 1.8 degrees Fahrenheit. The human body is such that they can adjust in any condition according to the needs most of the time. I came from India with temperatures above 112 degrees in the summer. Some of my friends came from Africa, which also had really hot temperatures, and they adjusted as well.

Have a wonderful week. I’ll talk to you next time.
