This past weekend, a six-game showcase featuring 3-on-3 basketball was held at the Barclays Center. The Big 3 Basketball League was founded by hip-hop musician and actor Ice Cube along with entertainment executive Jeff Kwatinez back in 2017. The players featured in the league are former NBA and other leagues pros.

In the first game of the day, it was Power beating Trilogy 50-40. Leading the Trilogy was Earl Clark who had 14 points and 3 rebounds, along with Isaiah Briscoe’s 11 points and 8 rebounds. Power was led by Royce White with 20 points and TJ Cline’s 14 points and 3 rebounds.

The second game had the triplets beating the Tristate 51-45. Tristate got 16 points and 8 rebounds from Devin Ebanks and Jason Richardson had 14 points and 7 rebounds. Jeremy Pargo had 26 points 2 rebounds for the Triples, while Joe Johnson had 17 points and 7 rebounds.

Game 3 saw 3s Company beating the 3 Headed Monsters 50-42. Leading the 3 headed monsters was Rashard Lewis with 15 points and 14 rebounds and Kevin Murphy with 13 points and 6 rebounds. 3s Company saw a big game from Michael Beasley with 17 points and 15 rebounds.

Game 4 saw the Enemies losing to Bivouac 50-44. Enemies was led by Jordan Crawford with 20 points and 6 rebounds, while Gerald Green led Bivouac with 18 points and 7 rebounds.

The 5th game of the day had the Killer 3s beating the Aliens 51-39. Donte Green spurred the Killer 3s to victory with 28 points and 12 rebounds.

Rounding out the action in the last game, the Ghost Ballers lost to the Ball Hogs 50-39.

In other sports news, the 2023 Home Run Derby was won by Blue Jays slugger Vladmir Guerrero, Jr. Previous champion Pete Alonso did not get out of the first round.

The Yankees fired hitting coach Dillon Lawson, while the Northwestern football program fired head coach Pat Fitzgerald after 17 seasons amid hazing allegations.
