The NBA Playoffs are underway, and both the Knicks and Nets are in. So far, the #5 Knicks have tied the Cavaliers 1-1 in their series, while the #6 Nets trail the 76ers 2-0. As for the rest of the Eastern Conference, #1 Milwaukee trails #8 Miami 1-0, and #2 Boston leads #7 Atlanta 2-0.
In the Western Conference, things have gotten interesting between the #3 Sacramento Kings, and the defending champion Golden State Warriors. Not only is GS down 2-0, but the #6 Warriors will be without Draymond Green for Game 3, as he was suspended after stomping Kings center Domantas Sabonis.
Sacramento is no joke, as they boast newly crowned Clutch Player of the Year De’Aaron Fox and Coach of the Year Mike Brown, who was on the Warriors’ staff last season. If Golden State doesn’t figure out something soon, Sac-Town will be ready to light the beam and head into the next round.
Meanwhile, the highly anticipated series between the Suns and Clippers is tied at 1-1, while #1 Denver leads #8 Minnesota 1-0, and #2 Memphis is in deep trouble after losing their first game to the #7 Lakers – and star guard Ja Morant.
In the Women’s National Basketball Association, better known as the WNBA, the annual draft was held at Spring Studio in New York City. In no surprise, the Indiana Fever took South Carolina forward Aliyah Boston with the 1st overall pick of the draft.
With the 2nd pick, the Minnesota Lynx took guard Diamond Miller from Maryland, while the Dallas Wings took forward Mattie Siegrist from Villanova with the 3rd pick. Center Stephanie Soares from Iowa State was selected 4th by the Washington Mystics, but was tentatively traded to Dallas, and swingwoman Lou Lopez Senechal from the University of Connecticut was picked 5th by Dallas. Meanwhile, the New York Liberty drafted guard Haley Jones from Stanford with the 6th pick. The Draft consisted of three rounds and 36 picks.
