NEWARK – Around 500 people were on hand in Downtown Newark to pay tribute to one of the world’s greatest trailblazers.

The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. “We Won’t Go Back” March and Rally was held this past Sunday on January 15, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. The march started at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Statue in front of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Justice Building, located at 495 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard in Newark, NJ.

The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Statue is located near the corner of Springfield Avenue and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard. January 15th is the actual birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. who was born in 1929 in Atlanta, GA.

The event was sponsored by People’s Organization for Progress (POP). Among those showing support to the cause was Local 108 RWDSU.
