Unions endorse candidates for different reasons. Among the issues are: Defending Workers’ Rights, Protecting Our Retirement, Investing in Infrastructure and Lowering Healthcare Costs. Mikie Sherrill has supported all of these causes in the past, and has promised to support them in the future. She is committed to representing working families.

On October 29, 2022 over 100 supporters got together and had a rally to support Mikie Sherrill’s reelection bd for Congress. The rally started at the Local 108 office at 1576 Springfield Avenue, in Maplewood, NJ and extended to most of the district’s 11 towns, including Maplewood, Montclair, Irvington, and West Orange.

Mikie Sherrill is a Naval Academy graduate, Navy helicopter pilot and former federal prosecutor, as well as a wife and mother of four children. She served 10 years on active duty in the United States Navy as a Sea King Helicopter pilot. Right now, she is serving the 11th Congressional District and appealing to voters to come out and vote for the right candidate in the newly redrawn district.

Essex West Hudson Labor Council, AFL CIO, RWDSU, and Local 108 supported and endorsed Mikie Sherrill for Congress in NJ’s 11th District. They support candidates who support working families.

It will be a very important election on November 8th. Please do not waste your vote this year. Early Voting is open until November 6, 2022.
