Hello Readers,

As of now, we are still waiting on the results of the 2022 Election on the national stage. According to The Wall Street Journal as of Nov. 9 at 3 pm, the Republicans gained enough seats in the House to have a majority. However, Senate control is still up for grabs. According to a Georgia rule, any candidate (including U.S. Senate) must have 50% plus 1 vote to be declared the winner, otherwise there will be a runoff election for the top two contenders. As of this writing, Democratic candidate Raphael Warnock has received the most votes (1,941,476 – 49.4%) and Republican Herschel Walker received the next most votes (1,906,230 – 48.5%). Libertarian candidate Chase Oliver received 81,174 votes, which was enough to block Warnock and Walker from getting more than 50% of the vote, so a runoff election in Georgia will be held on December 6, 2022.

The senate is very closely divided between the Democrats and the Republicans. Everyone’s eye will be on the December 6th election, which may decide who will control the senate. As you all know, resolutions and new ideas have no meaning with our elected officials. It is not the resolution that matters, but who introduced the resolution and which party boss has supported the resolution. They vote like little five-year-old children and just say yes or no according to the party bosses. In my opinion, this is not democracy. I said it before and I’ll say it again, there should be BLIND VOTING. We must trust our elected officials and let them vote with their own conscience on the basis of the subject – not the party bosses.

In this election, the country is divided more than before. The majority of the democrats vote for the democratic candidate, regardless of their ability to serve people and the republican registered votes vote for the Republican, also regardless of their ability to serve people. People are naïve and the politicians knows how to sell their ideas.

Tom Kean Jr., the son of former popular New Jersey governor Tom Kean Sr., has won against two term incumbent Tom Malinowski. Last year, they redrew the 7th District to lean more towards Republicans to push other districts of vulnerable Democratic incumbents. Tom Kean Jr. received 153,082 votes while Tom Malinowski received 139,404 votes.

Locally, Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo (120,713 votes) won by a landslide against his republican opponent Adam Kraemer (30,711 votes).

A 93 year old pedestrian was killed in an accident in East Orange. Lately, there have been more fatal accidents. Cities and administrations should start educating people on how to drive and print easy explanations for the safety of driving for themselves and others as well.

Have a wonderful week. I’ll talk to you next week.
