Happy Diwali and Happy New Year to all of you, according to the Indian calendar. Diwali is derived from a Sanskrit Word: Dipavali. The basic meaning of Dipavali is a row of lights. However, it is known as festival of lights.
Diwali is the last day of the calendar year. So, everyone in India cleans their house and gets ready for the new beginning the next day, which is the New Year (Naya Sal). Also, the light symbolizes a victory over darkness. According to our belief, we clean our bad thoughts and start with better thoughts to help ourselves and the community. This is a festival of good over evil, knowledge over ignorance. On this day, we celebrate with family and friends. When I was young, we used to visit everyone’s house to eat nice snacks and sweets. Also, we used to get money as gifts and we used to enjoy that as well. There is no difference between today’s children and yesterday’s children. A child is a child.
November’s election is around the corner. There’s less than three weeks left. Biden has a main agenda to win a majority in the Senate and Congress as well as gubernatorial elections. He is trying his best and he is determined to win this election by hook or crook. He already set up the website to forgive $10,000 or $20,000 of students’ loans. This will cost American taxpayers about $450 billion. Biden promised abortion rights and reversing the supreme court’s judgment on Roe vs Wade and bringing back Roe for the decision-making process for girls or women. Planned Parenthood has been affected by the Supreme Court decision. In 2015 according to the news, $500 million was given to Planned Parenthood by the United States government. With the Supreme Court decision, some states have forbidden abortions, so many patients are going to Planned Parenthood facilities in New York State.
Russia has destroyed power and water structure across Ukraine. About 1,162 towns and villages are without power (blackout) and also water has become a huge problem for all those towns and villages. According to BBC news: “Russia has openly acknowledged targeting Ukraine’s energy infrastructure with waves of missile and drone strikes since the start of the last week, in what President Vladimir Putin said was legitimate retaliation for a blast on a bridge.”
After the ousting of Boris Johnson as Britain’s Prime Minister, there was a vote and Liz Truss became Prime Minister of Britain six weeks ago. She received a large amount of support due to her economic vision. However, the reality check is different. Now, a lot of Members of Parliament think that she cannot handle the economic crisis, and she has survived so far by a thin margin. She has to come up with new ideas with clarity; that is the only way she can survive.
UPDATE: Truss has resigned, and a new PM will take over in about a week.
On Sunday October 16, 2022, 11 persons taken to the hospital for Carbon Monoxide Poisoning. Five were transported to University Hospital and six to Clara Maass Medical Center. All were senior citizens according to the news. They all were residents of the Stephen Crane Senior Elderly Apartments on Evergreen Lane in Newark. This senior building is run by the Newark Housing Authority. This is a very serious matter, and the administration must look at all details for this building and every other building ran by the Newark Housing Authority.
