The excitement is back in Newark with Brick City Native and current boxing champion Shakur Stevenson, who will be back at the Prudential Center on Sept. 23. Stevenson is currently 18-0 and has 9 knockouts. Also fighting on the card is current silver medalist Keyshawn Davis, a Brooklyn-born featherweight who is 5-0. Prospect Bruce Shu Carrington who is 4-0 in the junior featherweight. Prospect Floyd Diaz, who has a 6-0 record, and Long Island born Jahi Tucker will be the undercard fighters before Stevenson fights Brazilian contender Robson Conceicao.
Special guests who attended the opening press conference at the Prudential Center were current Seton Hall men’s basketball coach Shaheen Holloway and New Jersey Devils player Dougie Hamilton, along with the New Jersey Devils youth foundation. Wali Moses, Stevenson’s grandfather who started him boxing at the age of five years old, was also in attendance, along with local area boxing coach Nasir Graham.
