The Irvington High School Girls Flag football team had a great season under head coach Kyle Steele, winning their first ever flag football championship. The Lady Blue Knights took the crown on June 4th at the New York Jets faculty in Florham Park.

Last year, Irvington made it to the championship game against Passaic County Tech at MetLife Stadium. This year, IHS beat Hawthorne in the title game 33-6. Other teams Irvington beat on the path were Union City 33-12 and Wayne Valley in the Division Championship 31-13.

In other high school sports news, the East Orange Campus High School track and field athletes won in the Adidas Nationals in Greensboro, North Carolina. The event was held at the Irwin Belk track. Girls and boys team competed in this event.

Finally, the Golden State Warriors won their fourth NBA title in eight years, winning the NBA Finals 4-2 over the Boston Celtics, taking Game 6 on the road. Stephen Curry added the title of Finals MVP to his trophy case.
