New York, NY / Santa Clara, CA / Round Rock, TX – The Electronic Gaming Federation (EGF), the leader in season-long varsity high school and collegiate esports competition, announced Intel® Corporation and Alienware as sponsors of the 2022 Walt Disney World® EGF
High School National Championships. The event will be staged and streamed live from ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort on June 17-19, 2022.
One of the young people competing in the event s none other than Jonathan Tarver, a senior with a 3.56 GPA at the STEM Innovation Academy of the Oranges, and son of proud parents Tyrone and Germaine Tarver of Orange.
Jonathan has been accepted to NJIT’s Ying Wu College of Computing, with a Major in Gaming Programming. Also, he is the first student in Orange Public Schools to qualify for the Electronic Gaming Federation (EGF) High School National Tournament.
The Walt Disney World® EGF High School National Championships features over 100 of the best high school esports teams from across the United States who have advanced this school year through the regular season and regional finals to qualify in Overwatch, Rocket League, and Super Smash Bros. Teams will go head-to-head on Alienware gaming systems powered by the latest 12th generation Intel® CoreTM processors.

In addition to helping high schools and colleges organize esports programs and team competitions, EGF works closely with member schools to create experiential learning opportunities for career development in related pursuits, such as broadcasting, content creation, marketing, and management.

The 2022 Walt Disney World® EGF High School National Championships for Rocket League will be streamed live on the ESPN App, with the Finals airing on ESPNU. All competition will also stream on the Official EGF Twitch and YouTube channels.
