NEWARK – Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II has announced that Jashyah Moore, the missing 14-year-old girl from East Orange, had been safely located in New York City. Jashyah is currently safe and is being provided all appropriate services.

In a Nov. 12 press conference, Stephens indicated that Moore seems to have run away from home, and that she was at several locations, where she was mainly staying at a shelter in Brooklyn. At around 7 p.m. on Nov. 11, she was located at the corner of 111th Street and Lenox Avenue in Harlem, and was ultimately met by police.

Moore’s mother and many others initially believed that she was kidnapped, and a $20,000 reward had been posted for information on Jashyah’s whereabouts.
