For the first time since 1988, the Los Angeles Dodgers are World Series champions. LA finished off the Tampa Bay Rays 3-1 in Game 6 of the Fall Classic, giving their city its second title in as many months, joining the Lakers. Dodgers star Corey Seager was named the MVP.

Pro football in this area is still a joke. First, the Giants held an 11-point at the Eagles, on Thursday Night Football, only to blow it and lose 22-21. The low-light of the game saw NY QB Daniel Jones reel off an 80 yard run, only to stumble over his own feet before scoring.

Meanwhile, the Jets were just as bad, if not worse. Despite not giving up a touchdown at home to the bills, Gang Green lost 18-10. One reason for the loss had to be the Jets putting up just 4 total yards of offense in the second half. Again, 4 yards.

In other NFL news, the Pittsburgh Steelers are now the league’s only undefeated team at 6-0. Also, current Browns WR and former Giant Odell Beckham, Jr. is out for the season with a torn ACL. Finally, despite his suspension, the Buccaneers signed receiver Antonio Brown.

In Essex County high school football, the Orange Tornadoes and the Columbia Cougars clashed with latter winning 39-28. In East Orange, West Orange came in and upset the Jaguars 17-7. East Orange is now 3-1 on the season. The Irvington Blue Knights improved to 3-1 after a strong 49-22 win at North Bergen 49-22.

The second Greg Schiano era at Rutgers got off to a great start, with the Scarlet Knights winning at Michigan State 38-27. This marked RU breaking a 21 game losing streak in the Big Ten Conference.
