The New Jersey High School Football summer workouts have gotten underway, going on through August 28th. There will be a two week hiatus from August 29th though September 13th, during which only virtual meetings will be permitted at that time. The official start of the fall regular season has been pushed back by approximately one month to October 2nd.

Under the current plan developed by the NJSIAA Sports Advisory Task Force, which is composed of athletic directors from across the state, the regular season will end on November 7th.

In other sports news, the NFL East team known by Washington have officially dropped their old team name and logo, and will employing a new name this upcoming season. In college football, the Big Ten announced that it would employ a conference-play only season for all fall sports, including football, with the return of Greg Schiano at Rutgers being something to look forward to as he had a big off season recruiting local athletes in New Jersey. This comes after news of the Ivy League moving sports to Spring of next year, and the Patriot League outright cancelling Fall sports due to the pandemic.
