On Saturday, May 3, 2025 the Ivy Hill Little League held its Opening Day celebration at Houston Stevens Field in Ivy Hill Park.
The weather was great, bright and sunny. What a wonderful day for the Parade of Players march to the field.
Once on the field, the first game was the T-Ballers, with 4, 5, 6, and 7 year olds – Yankees vs. Mets. This was their big day to show what they learned so far.
The players hit the ball, ran to first, and were happy as can be, while the defensive players made several good plays. A couple of players hit for their first double, with all the parents so proud of their children and the exciting game.
Next was a scrimmage game with the Minors and Majors, with the Majors winning 5-3.
Another thing that made this a awesome event was the Ivy Hill Little League Opening Day Cookout for the kids with hot dogs, chips, snacks, juice and water for the teams, coaches, family members, and community.
Hats off to the Ivy Hill Little League, who put so many smiles on so many faces.
