There was a second attempt on former President Trump’s life on September 15. How awful. The social atmosphere is going in the wrong direction. Politics are going in the wrong direction. I never understood why people need AK-47s, AR-15s and many other assault weapons. For the purpose of protection, people can legally buy a simple bullet pistol or rifle. However, deer hunting requires more than a simple bullet weapon. So, the experts must find an alternative for deer hunting.
However, assault weapons must be banned if we want to live a safe and happy life. I support a national ban on assault weapons. Also, there are illegal guns and rifles in the market. The lawmakers must think about how to control that. I am not an expert, but I want people to live a worry-free life.
This still did not overshadow the news of Taylor Swift endorsing VP Kamala Harris. This upset Trump, who posted on his Truth Social platform, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” The post went viral.
Taylor Swift is #5 for musicians when it comes to followers on social media. For all categories, she is #14 for the most followers in the world. Portugal footballer Christiano Ronaldo has the most followers in the world. Lionel Messi stands second. Selena Gomez, a musician, actress and businesswoman, comes in third. So, the endorsement of Swift got under Trump’s skin, because many followers might go with the endorsement from Swift. She might just impact the election.
Harris is also leading in the polls for the electoral college by 2 votes. About 98 votes are still a toss-up according to RealClearPolitics polls as of September 17, only 48 days from the election. It will be interesting to see who will win the election and what will be the outcome after the election.
School has started already. Last week, New York Williamsburg Brooklyn Schools were evacuated after social media threats. However, the threats were not credible, and students came back to class on Monday afternoon. Social media threats are normal in our lives nowadays.
Essex County Sheriff Armando Fontoura’s grandson, David Fontoura, a lieutenant with the Essex County Prosecutors Office, has been arrested on six counts of aggravated assault and suspended without pay until the result comes out of the court system. He was charged with assaulting and threatening two women he worked with and dated. It happened four years ago.
Entertainment mogul Sean Combs has been arrested and charged with several counts. He pled not guilty. Like with anyone, he is innocent until found guilty in a court of law. However, his downfall has been closely tied to that of R. Kelly, who was eventually convicted and imprisoned for his crimes. What a downfall.
The New York Giants have not only lost their first two games, but they have scored less than half the points of their opponents (24-49). Their post season chances are very slim, and people are already asking for the coach to be fired. The Jets have a 1-1 record this season. However, they’ve scored 43 points against 49 points. Still, they seem to have a better chance than the Giants, but it is too early to tell.
Israel’s intelligence forces are very smart. According to reports, they found a way to swap out a shipment of pagers ordered by hundreds of Hezbollah members. Then, in a coordinated manner, the pagers exploded all over Lebanon and killed nine and injured thousands. One of the deceased was said to be a child sadly. So far, there is no word as to if the CIA or Scotland Yard knew of this. Either way, it will be hard for Hezbollah to communicate with each other as they can’t trust their hardware, since it might blow up.
