The annual “Snoopy Bowl” took place this past weekend at MetLife Stadium, with the New York Jets beating the New York Giants 12-7. Jets QB of the future and 2nd pick overall Zach Wilson saw his first action, going 6-9 for 63 yards, while Giants starter Daniel Jones did not play in the preseason matchup. This week, the Giants will be playing on the road against the Cleveland Browns, with both teams competing in joint practices. Meanwhile, the Jets will be at the Green Bay Packers.

This coming Saturday throughout New Jersey, the 2021 high school football season will kick off. The Orange Tornadoes finished 5-4 last season, and kicked off their latest campaign with a scrimmage against River Dell at Bell Stadium. The East Orange Jaguars competed in a three way scrimmage with Union and Phillipsburg. Also, the West Side Rough Riders are set for a scrimmage against rival Shabazz at Untermann Field. West Side who finished with a 5-1 record this past season. Finally, the Irvington Blue Knights will travel to Somerville for their first scrimmage of the season.
