Hello Readers,
After 53 years, the New York Knicks won the NBA Championship. Congratulations to the team and their fans, especially Spike Lee, who has been around for all the heartbreak throughout the years. It was New Jersey natives Jalen Brunson, the MVP, and Karl-Anthony Towns who led the way. Of course, no one will ever forget the play OG Anunoby made to win Game 4.
It would have been perfect if not for the unrest in the streets after the win. It is okay to celebrate, but it must be peaceful and responsible.
The only other celebration at the moment that could top the Knicks win would be if the US won the World Cup, which is underway. So far, the team won their first game 4-1 over Paraguay. Hopefully, the travel to the stadium is not as bad as people think it could be.
The US finally signed a peace deal with Iran, which they call a memorandum of understanding. President Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance agreed on behalf of the US and Iran Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf (also spelled Qalibaf) has agreed as well.
It is not a guarantee of long-lasting peace, but it is an understanding between both nations to come out with something for good. The details of the deal have not been released yet, but Trump said that they will release details of the agreement by Friday.
Reports say that Israel, who convinced the US to start the Iran War, is not happy. While speaking to the media, Trump said that he was not pleased with Israel’s attacks in Beirut, and mentioned how Israel should not be bombing apartment buildings.
When starting the war, the US and Israel did not think that Iran could close the Strait of Hormuz. 20% of the world’s oil passes through the Strait of Hormuz and all the oil transportation has been affected – in addition to Iran attacking US bases in the Middle East. The US has supported Israel since 1968. Originally, Israel was connected with France in 1948. However, according to Israel, France was not giving enough financial help. So, they turned to the US and since then, the US has been a big supporter of Israel.
Trump’s approval rating is at 36% which is the lowest in recent history. However, it will improve with the initial peace deal with Iran. His disapproval rating is 59%. He was desperate to settle with Iran. Originally, he thought that within 3 or 4 weeks, the war would be over. But he underestimated Iran and its supporters. Now at over 100 days, Iran is surviving and attacking the US.
In order to keep the peace, Israel must stop attacking Iran’s allies. I hope President Trump becomes very strict against Israel for interfering with the US efforts to end the conflict. Israel has broken potential ceasefires several times during the war.
Mr. Anthony Bogan succumbed to severe injuries after a hit and run accident on June 9, 2026. It was at the crossing of Springfield Avenue and Fairmount Avenue. As of today, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and Newark Police Department are still looking for the vehicle. Even though they might know the kind of vehicle, it has not been declared to the public.
Have a wonderful week; I’ll talk to you next week.
