It wasn’t on the agenda, but I decided to accept the invite – and boy, did I have a blast at the Lincoln Park Music Festival on Saturday. House was in the house, and our house was on fire.

When we walked up, Stephanie Cooke was up on the stage. I really enjoyed her performance. It was an awesome lineup, or so I’d been told, and although I missed most of it, I was blessed enough to share such an amazing experience with everyone I crossed paths with – and to feel the harmonious vibe resonating from all of ’em I hadn’t.

Music is so impactful. It has a quality and essence that’s unmatched. On Saturday, in Our House, all was well – surely, if not for always, then for that moment.

I was also blessed to reconnect with many people I love and respect – folks I hadn’t seen in quite some time. Check out the images of a few of those known and unknown souls who made my night – the ones I danced with and cut up with when the sun began bowing out, making way for the moon.

My heart was full. It had been poured into by all those beautifully amazing souls who brought life to that night.

Which do you know? Who do you resonate with? It’s all about that vibe – trust me – and Mocha folk got it. Truth Be Told… Enjoy!

DID YOU KNOW….

Dance as Therapy: Healing Through Movement

Dance isn’t just for performance – it’s powerful therapy. When we dance, we don’t just move our bodies; we move emotions, release tension, and reconnect with ourselves in ways words often can’t reach.

Therapeutic dance helps:

The mind by reducing stress, anxiety, and depression. Rhythmic movement releases endorphins and helps quiet the overactive brain.

The heart by opening space for emotional expression. Joy, grief, and anger can all be felt and released through movement.

The body by improving posture, flexibility, coordination, and balance. It activates muscles we rarely use and builds physical confidence.

The nervous system by resetting our internal rhythms. Repetitive movement and music regulate breathing, heart rate, and emotional tone.

The spirit by restoring a sense of connection—either to community, culture, or self.

Whether it’s slow swaying, stomping to a beat, or dancing in silence, movement unlocks stuck energy and invites healing. Dance doesn’t judge – your body leads, and your soul follows.
