Hello Readers,<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earthquakes are very rare in New Jersey. However, in 1984, there were 84 earthquakes. Last year, there was a large 4.8 quake in Hunterdon County and Morris County. I especially remember, because it was only 10 miles away from my house where I lived for 31 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On July 21, 2025 at about 5:30 am in Morristown, there were three small vibrations of 1.8 on the Richter Scale, and you could feel it a little bit. Late in the morning, there was another one, and at about 9 pm there was a third one, which I felt a little when I was at my niece\u2019s house. We checked around her property, and especially the swimming pool at night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The People\u2019s Organization for Progress joined the country in a GOOD TROUBLE PROTEST against Donald Trump and in honor of former US Congressman John Lewis who died five years ago. He was vocal against the brutal policies of America\u2019s deep South, which led to the landmark Civil Rights Act of 1964. We all talk about the discrimination, but even today there is discrimination going on against minorities, especially Black people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I saw a police video that showed a Black police officer arresting someone by breaking in the driver\u2019s side glass and taking off the person\u2019s seat belt, when the Black driver was not doing anything. It seemed like they were hitting him, and they finally arrested him. I understand that the police have to protect themselves, but when the person is cooperative and may not follow instructions exactly, do not abuse your authority by beating him\/her. Police are paid with the taxpayers\u2019 money, and they must be very careful. I understand they must show their authority, but they should be polite and nice to people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tulsi Gabbard, Director of National Intelligence, said that President Obama was faking Russiagate right after the 2016 election. It was clear to ruin incoming President Trump\u2019s image. Gabbard declassified and revealed \u201coverwhelming evidence\u201d that Obama and his national security team allegedly laid the groundwork for Russiagate against Trump. Even though Gabbard said that it was after the election, the news started spreading out before the election as I remember. It felt like election interference against Trump, but Trump was still elected. Trump has did not win the popular vote, but he won the electoral college by a good margin in 2016. In 2024, he won the popular vote and the electoral college. An Obama representative denied the allegations, as Trump has called for him to be criminally investigated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hunter Biden criticized the Democratic Party over how they handled his father, President Joe Biden, during his time in the White House. He also criticized George Clooney for openly criticized Joe Biden and pressuring him to withdraw his reelection bid. Ultimately, Donald Trump won the election against the replacement, Vice President Kamala Harris. Meanwhile, Kamala Harris wants to be the governor of California, but it seems like a distant dream for her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Malcolm-Jamal Warner, best known for playing Theo Huxtable on The Cosby Show, died at the age of 54 by accidental drowning in Costa Rica. Meanwhile, Ozzy Osbourne, not long after his final performance, died at age 76. Local Talk\u2019s staff and I will pray for their souls and convey our condolences to their families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
