Is Gracias French or Spanish?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gracias is thank you in Spanish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most simple way to say thank you in Spanish is gracias. In Latin Spanish, the \u201cc\u201d is pronounced like an \u201cs\u201d, while in European Spanish, the \u201cc\u201d is usually more like a \u201cth\u201d sound.     1. Thank you in English<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Aside from saying a basic thank you (obviously), you can also shorten it to thanks or lengthen it to thanks very much or thanks a lot! You might also hear Brits say cheers, though this will confuse Americans, who only like to use cheers when they are having a drink!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    2. Thank you in German<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The most common way is Danke sch\u00f6n. This can be shortened to Danke or made slightly more formal as Danke sehr.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    3. Thank you in Italian<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Italians usually thank each other with a grazie. If you really want to show your appreciation, you can say grazie mille, or mille grazie – literally, a thousand thanks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    4. Thank you in Spanish<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The most simple way to say thank you in Spanish is gracias.     There are a few different ways to say thank you in Japanese, but the most common is \u3042\u308a\u304c\u3068\u3046 (arigatou), which is a basic thank you. \u3069\u3046\u3082\u3042\u308a\u304c\u3068\u3046 (doumo arigatou) is more polite, while \u3069\u3046\u3082 (doumo) is more casual. \u3069\u3046\u3082\u3042\u308a\u304c\u3068\u3046\u3054\u3056\u3044\u307e\u3059 (doumo arigatou gozaimasu) is a formal, honorific expression. Watch out though – there are various other ways of expressing thanks as well, depending on where your Tandem partner is from in Japan!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    7. Thank you in Russian<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Showing your thanks is different in Russian depending on whether you want to be formal or informal. If you want to be informal, c\u043f\u0430\u0441\u0438\u0431\u043e (spacibo) is the best option. If you want to be very very formal, you can use \u0431\u043b\u0430\u0433\u043e\u0434\u0430\u0440\u044e. However – this is really only used if you want to impress someone. If in doubt, stick to c\u043f\u0430\u0441\u0438\u0431\u043e or even c\u043f\u0430\u0441\u0438\u0431\u043e \u0431\u043e\u043b\u044c\u0448\u043e\u0435 (spacibo bolshoye – thanks very much).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    8. Thank you in Korean<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    There are several different ways of saying thank you in Korean, but in general, you will hear \uac10\uc0ac\ud569\ub2c8\ub2e4 (gamsahamnida). It is still pretty formal and polite, so suitable for strangers and people older than you. If you know someone really well, you can say \uace0\ub9c8\uc6cc\uc694 (gomawoyo).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    9. Thank you in Mandarin Chinese<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The most common way to say thank you in Mandarin is \u8c22\u8c22\u4f60 (xi\u00e8 xi\u00e8 n\u01d0). When it is spoken as xi\u00e8 xi\u00e8, it means thanks while xi\u00e8 xi\u00e8 n\u01d0 is thank you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    10. Thank you in Cantonese<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In Cantonese, there are two common ways of saying thank you that are used in different situations. When someone gives you a gift, you can say \u591a\u8b1d\u4f60 (do1 ze6 nei5). However, when someone helps you, you would say \u5514\u8a72\u4f60 ( m4 goi1 nei5). Both of them are common in Cantonese, but most likely the second would be more useful for your Tandem conversations!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    11. Thank you in Thai<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Thank you in Thai is khop kun. Here\u2019s a hack for making your sentence instantly polite and respectful: add the word khrup (if you are female) or ka (if you are male) to the end of the sentence. So a politer version would be khop kun khrup\/ka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    12. Thank you in Dutch<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The easiest way to say thank you in Dutch is dank je, which covers most situations, being neither impolite nor overly formal. For a small emphasis, you can say dank je wel, which is more like thanks very much, or for the most sincere and heartfelt thanks, hartelijk bedankt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    13. Thank you in Portuguese<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Thank you in Portuguese is obrigado – but only if you\u2019re male. If you are female, you should say obrigada. In spoken Portuguese, the \u201co\u201d is often dropped, so don\u2019t be surprised if someone says what sounds like \u201cbrigado\/a\u201d to you in conversation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    14. Thank you in Swedish<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Most commonly you will hear tack in Swedish when people want to say thank you – but there are plenty of variations on this that you can learn. Tack s\u00e5 mycket is more like thank you very much, or you can say tusen tack (a thousand thanks) or even stort tack (big thanks).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    15. Thank you in Vietnamese<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    When saying thank you, Vietnamese people usually say c\u00e1m \u01a1n – when you are really really thankful, you can also say c\u00e1m \u01a1n r\u1ea5t nhi\u1ec1u, which is more like thank you very much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    16. Thank you in Hungarian<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Hungarian is known to be a difficult language, but saying thank you isn\u2019t too much of a challenge: k\u00f6sz\u00f6n\u00f6m. Nagyon sz\u00e9pen k\u00f6sz\u00f6n\u00f6m is used when you want to show that you are really grateful, and it has the added benefit of being polite – you can also say simply k\u00f6sz\u00f6n\u00f6m sz\u00e9pen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    17. Thank you in Swahili<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Thank you is a beautiful word in Swahili – asante. It\u2019s easy enough to emphasize as well. Just add sana to the end, so asante sana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    18. Thank you in Hindi<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    There are many ways to say thank you in Hindi, but if you want to formally thank someone then you say, \u0927\u0928\u094d\u092f\u0935\u093e\u0926 (dhanyavaad). If it is informal then you say \u0936\u0941\u0915\u094d\u0930\u093f\u092f\u093e (shukriya). Adding \u092c\u094b\u0939\u094b\u0924 (bohaut) before either (\u092c\u094b\u0939\u094b\u0924 \u0927\u0928\u094d\u092f\u0935\u093e\u0926\/\u0936\u0941\u0915\u094d\u0930\u093f\u092f\u093e – bohaut dhanyavaad\/shukriya) would make it into thank you very much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    19. Thank you in Arabic<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Thank you in Arabic is \u0634\u0643\u0631\u0627 (\u0161ukran). This is an all-purpose thank you that can be used in a variety of different scenarios. \u0634\u0643\u0631\u0627 \u062c\u0632\u064a\u0644\u0627 (\u0161okran gaz\u012blan) is a more informal, enthusiastic thank you, rather like thank you so much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    20. Thank you in Czech<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In the Czech language, you can thank someone by saying d\u011bkuji. A shortened, simple version of this (much like the English word thanks) is d\u00edky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
