The showcase featured two Georgia schools, Albany State and Atlanta\u2019s Morehouse College.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Albany State kicked off the scoring with quarterback Isaiah Knowles tossing a 2 yard TD pass to Ralph Lovett followed by a 2 pt conversion run by Iman Davis for an 8-0 lead. With 6.45 left in the first quarter, Knowles hit Rashad Jordan on a 58 yard touchdown pass. Another 2-pt conversion attempt was stopped, making the score a tidy 14-0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 2nd quarter saw Albany State employ kicker Eli Masburn for a 28 yard field goal for a 17-0. However, right before halftime, Morehouse\u2019s Korta Brogan scored on a 31 yard touchdown pass from Derrach West to make the score 17-7 after Danny Elrod added the extra point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"425\" height=\"450\" src=\"http:\/\/localtalkweekly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/image0-425x450.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6419\" srcset=\"https:\/\/localtalkweekly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/image0-425x450.jpeg 425w, https:\/\/localtalkweekly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/image0-142x150.jpeg 142w, https:\/\/localtalkweekly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/image0-150x159.jpeg 150w, https:\/\/localtalkweekly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/image0-473x500.jpeg 473w, https:\/\/localtalkweekly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/image0-600x635.jpeg 600w, https:\/\/localtalkweekly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/image0.jpeg 605w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 425px) 100vw, 425px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the scoring let up for a while, Morehouse\u2019s Marqueiz Pride caught a 7 yard touchdown pass from West with 9:33 left in the game to make the score 17-14. Unfortunately, that is as close as Morehouse would get, as Albany State got a Knowles to Rashad Jordan 13 yard TD pass to make the score 24-14, which would be the final.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;Prior to the game, former New York Giants running back and Super Bowl XLII champion Brandon Jacobs helped with media day with the head football coaches for both teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the many celebrities who attended the game were TV and film star Anthony Anderson who did the honorary Coin Toss. Also, Morehouse alum Edwin Moses, a 2-time Olympic Gold Medalist in track and field, was on hand with fellow Morehouse star Issac Keys, a former NFL Linebacker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before the game, there was a Career Expo, and during halftime, a performance by hip hop legend Big Daddy Kane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"358\" height=\"450\" src=\"http:\/\/localtalkweekly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Big-Daddy-Kane-358x450.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6420\" srcset=\"https:\/\/localtalkweekly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Big-Daddy-Kane-358x450.jpeg 358w, https:\/\/localtalkweekly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Big-Daddy-Kane-119x150.jpeg 119w, https:\/\/localtalkweekly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Big-Daddy-Kane-150x189.jpeg 150w, https:\/\/localtalkweekly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Big-Daddy-Kane-398x500.jpeg 398w, https:\/\/localtalkweekly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/Big-Daddy-Kane.jpeg 509w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 358px) 100vw, 358px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the NFL, the Jets started out competitive on the road against the Dallas Cowboys, but eventually fell 30-10.
